Hooded Eye Makeup Tutorial

Happy Sunday!

I woke up this morning to an email from Ulta day with a big deal from Urban Decay. I think I’ve decided that I like their palettes the best and today they have a new palette for half off. It’s called Shadow Box and I absolutely love the colors! p.s. it looks like this palette is only available at Ulta.

This is the perfect little palette to carry in your makeup bag or purse when you’re on a trip or something like that. It has some nice bold colors as well as softer ones.

Okay, so here’s my tutorial for hooded eyes. I have a mostly hooded eyes so these are also tips and tricks I use every time I do eye makeup.

Tools I used/recommend

Eye shadow primer – Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – travel sized, $12, full sized, $20 (sign up for UD Beauty Junkies and you’ll get free shipping!)

Eyeliner – Almay intense i-color in Black Pearl

Brushes – angled and blending (here are some cheaper and other options – e.l.f. brushes, angled option 1, option 2, blending (technically crease brush)

Eye shadow – I recommend three different shades even though I only used two in the video. 1, for the eyelid, 2, darker for the crease, and 3 a highlighter shade.

Mascara – I used my favorite Stila Glamoureyes mascara – I recommend any mascara with great volume as this will also make your hooded eyes seem more open and not as “hidden.” Some of my [cheaper] favorites include Maybelline The Rocket Volum’Express, and Covergirl Full Lash Bloom. I know it’s a little scary to start wearing really voluminous mascara so if that bothers you, I definitely recommend Full Lash Bloom as an easy transition.

Enjoy!
